Our Life After Sendong Tragedy

Due to typhoon Sendong tragedy our lives become fearful here in Southern Mindanao. Iligan our nearby City which happened to have more numbers of death kept reminding us specially when bad weather occurs. My parents' house is located so close to the the sea and the river which is so dangerous when there's a flood. The people in our community now easily panic; just like two days ago we were evacuated around 2:00am to the evacuation centers in our town. Some of us stayed at the church and schools. In the morning we go back to our respected houses since there was no flood happens. I thought that scenario will end there but I was mistaken. The following day after we came from Ozamiz City we arrived home late, around 7:00pm and again the people go to evacuation centers and few people left including us in our community. I felt nervous while getting the kids ready and our things as well. I just took a deep breath and pray that things will be okay and what had happened in Iligan and Cagayan de Oro will not happen to us here.

Last night, we stayed in our friend's house located downtown instead at the evacuations centers in which the people go and stay. Fortunately no flood happens and we were so grateful for that. Now we are back in our house and hoping that no more evacuating. sigh!

I Want to Avail Instant Cash

It is December finally. But what happens to me? Here I am struggling financially! I need cash as well as hubby for the holidays. I have not availed any loans yet so last night while reading a couple of articles online it gives me the thought of availing it. Well it is not a bad idea; I know many people are into that option. This time of crisis we should be smart and spend money wisely. When do the shopping as much as possible use coupons, shop when on sale or not spend money at all.

I am not shame to tell to the world that I need money because that's the fact and who in this world doesn't need it? So tonight as soon as hubby gets online I will inform him that I want to avail the cash advance online. The procedure is so easy and hassle free. Besides the approval is not that long compared to other lending firms out there. Few days left before Christmas so I need to double my time to get some cash and be merry for the coming holidays. Does anyone of you have tried cash advance online? Would you mind sharing how fast the procedure was?

First Time Bath in the Rain

My little girl wants to take a bath in the rain but I kept saying no to her. She's so stubborn and there she go under the rain. She had lots of audience as it was her first time and had a blast. She's so funny! After this moment she whispered to me this "Mom tomorrow again!" lol! So I answered OKAY! lol!

Then my eldest (4 yr old. son) got jealous, and he told me "Me too will join next time to take a bath in the rain. Mom, it will rain again tomorrow?" Oh, the innocent one he also never experienced grabbing the opportunity of what the rain offers because of the mother's word NO.

Reminiscing my childhood days, I had fun always in the rain. Since we just walk from home to school and vise versa, my mother was not there to say NO to bath in the rain because we already did it while walking together with other children. So we look like a wet chick when we arrived home (cold and freezing). lol!

Garden Gate Design

I'm into the search of a simple but nice gate design for our backyard. As much as possible I want to save more than the last gate we had installed for the front of our house. I already talked to the contractor and he mentioned the price which is so high for me. Now I came up to the idea that I'll be the one to buy the materials and I'll just pay the labor. Hmmm... I need to think bout it again.

Woodwork design.

combination of steel and wood.

Which one between the 2 designs do you prefer?

Finally Home

I wasn't able to update my blogs for days because of the so busy days doing my offline errands. I ran here and there like crazy with hungry feeling because of the no time for that. Whew! It was driving me nuts! Anytime today once I'll get enough rest I will be blogging here regarding my whereabouts on those busy moments. So folks that's it for now I need to get rest. I'll be back soon for more updates.

Thanks for dropping by.

There's an Improvement

I am happy to tell that as months go by my preschool students performance are improving especially their handwriting. Even though son just started writing this year the alphabet he learned quickly, and in fact he can write his complete name and in the line using the grade school paper.

son's work. Thumbs up for you son!

The snapshot below is the handwriting of my 3 yr. old daughter. Of course I am happy for her too because of her amazing performance.

Anything you would like to say?

Alexa Rank is getting bigger

I felt so sad when I looked at my Alexa widget yesterday revealing how fat it is. Comparing to life some people like being fat because they believed that it is healthy and shows that you are abundant of food. But to Alexa is opposite, the thinner is better! In order to attain such goal the webmaster needs to work hard. Like what? That will be the next subject to be tackled when I get back.

A Five Dollar Indoor Plant

I love seeing a house surrounded with lots of plants or trees. It is cooler. When I visited hubby's place months ago I was amazed with the green environment. Tall trees and flowers are what usually seen with my eyes but not on his own apartment. Since I love plants I told him we'll buy a few at Walmart which we actually did. And as a start we got this plant in the image, sorry I forgot its name. Its cost is $5 and I just the one who transferred it to a bigger pot. So far by now it's still alive and growing according to hubby.

Winning Back the Energy and Inspirations

I was disappeared in blog land for quite a while. My status is on and off lately because of uncontrollable things that happened. I strive hard not to take problems seriously because only myself will suffer the consequences. I am sure you know what I mean by that. Instead of worrying too much I rather do some ways to uplift my emotions. I need to be strong all the time for the sake of my loved ones and I need to focus and think of my family's future.

Sigh! I am writing this to the world because I just want to remind myself that I am still alive and valuable. No matter what happens I need to get focused and inspired always.

I have read articles online telling the changes of the DFA procedures and based from them more on positive factors in the side of the applicants.

All I can say is I want to be finished soon so I can go back home because sembreak is over.

Living in a Top 3 Dirtiest City of America?

Raising my family in a peaceful, clean and crime free environment is what I always dreamed of. There is nothing to worry about health problems from pollution. Polluted and dirty environment should not just be taken for granted because that is where the diseases come from. "Health is wealth" and I want anyone to remember it always. No matter how wealthy you are still would be useless if you are often sick and all your money will just go the doctor.

Anyway, what can you say if you live in any of the dirtiest city of America? What could be your main concern?

For America's Top 3 dirtiest city, here we go:

1.) Bakersfield-Delano, CA- The place is surrounded with the California's largest oil fields. Moreover, it is hot and dusty, plus it has all the components for the worst air in the nation.

2.) Los Angeles-Long Beach-Riverside, CA- full with millions of cars, busy airports.

3.) Visalia- Porterville, CA- Smoggy place.

Friday Fill-Ins

And...here we go!

1. In November, I most look forward to acquire the important docs needed for the 3 of us so we could fly.

2. 2012 is approaching...phew!

3. It's right there, in the middle of the ocean where I wrote my dreams.

4. As usual, I always wanted to have a peace of mind.

5. Water is what makes the world alive.

6. "Always be thankful for what you have" is what my grandmother used to say!

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to do my online errands, tomorrow my plans include tutoring my kids, do the home chores, get some groceries and Sunday, I want to hear the mass!

A Learning Experience

There are certain individuals who are having fun with bidding sites. Bidding is rampant these days either for fun or some kind of obsession. I admit I've been there before just the local site and it was late when I found out that it is a scam, and have wasted my money and time already. Too bad! I learned a lesson from that incident. Since then I don't participate anymore. I just consider it as a learning experience like other moments happened in life for a reason. By the way guys have you heard the story of dealfun.com scam? If you are interested to make some gossip for a while then get ready with your ears.

Before Going to School

Hello folks. It is Monday once again. Today I'd like to share with you this happy faces of my tots taken before they went to school on Friday. We were all in a pleasant mood so here is the result, the captured image son on his school uniform and daughter on her casual attire. Since it was their wash day, meaning no uniform. Friday is the most awaiting day for my daughter because she's so excited to wear a different outfit. So do you think only office workers have wash day? Nope! students have it too. lol!

Plan on Moving

Life is so complicated. There are individuals who are not satisfied nor know how to value the food and the blessings they received. Why there are people like that? Such bad attitude honestly makes my heart sick because I met a certain creature who possessed it. I consider myself as unfortunate in that manner. The worst thing there is not only met but became part of my life for almost my entire breathe.

At this moment the can is already full and keep telling me it is over! My kids are affective. The eldest asked me if what's going on because of the loud voices they hear within the cage. That is the innocent child asking the mother. And the mother answered "they are mad." Son became quiet. I know despite of his age he understands the flow of the wind. It is so sad. I never dreamed of raising my children in such environment. As a mom I feel disappointed right now. I want to move and it's in the plan. I hope I can find a better community and within the reach of the school where the kids are attending. **sigh!**

Friday-Fill Ins

And...here we go!

1. It's easy to recognize mistakes than good doings.

2. Hubby, my beloved is my darling.

3. Once upon a time, there was an innocent little girl lived in a tiny house with dreams, and fortunately those dreams are now fulfilled bit by bit.

4. Life has always... the end.

5. What is going on with the world now?

6. It is better to do the task sooner than later.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to get enough rest because I am struggling with the flu, tomorrow my plans include teaching my kids for their incoming examination and Sunday, I want to hear the mass and do other household chores after!

Yard Fencing

In North America I have noticed that many home owners don't put fence on their yard. I asked hubby about it and he just answered me that fencing is not that important. People can only enjoy their yard during summer time and the rests of the days not because of the cold weather. Anyway, speaking of fence, I decided to work on the fence of my parents place. I started it few days ago and it is almost done. I extended the gate and had demolished the old store which mom used a long time ago when she was having her mini-grocery store.

For the meantime we are staying on their territory with my kids since they continued their studies here. The fencing job in our province cost 300 Php per person. The contractor will do the piling of hallow blocks and other jobs. I am not happy with the performance of the contractor hired by my parents this time because he is very slow and because of what he showed I am having the thought of replacing him soon. Despite of that slow performance, I am still looking forward of seeing the better look of our fence as well as the new face of the gate.

Improve Your Home Security

Are you thinking about some home improvement work to boost your home’s market appeal? You may be looking to upgrade the kitchen or bathroom, but have you considered repairing or replacing the fencing? Improving your boundary wall or fence can be a quick, simple and highly cost effective way to change the appearance of your home and – unlike renovation work inside the home - work on fencing will hardly interrupt your household routines.

A coat of paint can rejuvenate a tired, shabby fence in next to no time. If existing fencing has been constructed in a style that does little to complement the architectural features of your home, this is an ideal opportunity to create a fence that provides a more integrated look. Building new fences and gates fitted with strong locks is likely to be considered favorably by your California home insurance provider who may offer premium discounts for the enhanced security; more importantly, improved fencing creates a more private, safer home for you and your family.

If your home is located in a noisy urban neighborhood or near a busy transport corridor, consider installing high fencing that incorporates acoustic panels. A fence of this type becomes an effective noise barrier around your home, deflecting and deadening intrusive sounds and creating a quiet, tranquil haven.

If you make significant changes to the fencing around your home, be sure to notify your insurer or agent and adjust your homeowners insurance coverage to reflect the value of the home improvements.

On Her School Uniform

Below are the images captured by me at the backstage during their search for Mr. and Miss Sportsfest 2011 which was held 2 days ago. My daughter is only 3 years old and this was her first time experience joining in such beauty event. She had her talent but she did not present it on stage. She had sports, gown and swim suit attire but where was she during the presentation? She was on the backstage because she did not feel being on the stage presenting. So sad! But I understand because she`s still young for that thing.

Anyway, here she is on her school uniform costume. She was contestant number 3. I took this picture right after I hear her refusal to be on the stage.

She Can't Stay in One Place

I went to the nearby LBC outlet yesterday to make my payment. I haven't registered the account yet for my online payment so I have no choice at this moment except to visit any outlet that will accept the type of payment. Anyway the place is just near so it is not actually an issue for me. I brought my daughter with me because she was also done with her morning class.

While waiting for my turn I take pictures of her busy walking, touching everything around the LBC place. You know what sometimes I am really hesitant to bring her with me because she can't stay in one place. Before leaving the house I always speak to her to behave when we go out. Of course she often say YES. But in the actual scenario here she is caught in the act.

She is at the back of the chair hiding.

Before we left the place her hands and face were so dirty.
Is your 3 year old kid also like this?

Tonsillitis Symptoms

I don't want to say this that I have throat problem, the tonsillitis but that's the fact. I've been suffering from this heartless health condition few days ago. According to my source, the main cause of tonsillitis is a bacteria or virus. If your immune system is weak to fight for that virus then you'll be easily infected.

Here are the symptoms I've been experiencing with my recent tonsillitis:

  • Fever
  • body pain
  • headache
  • difficult in swallowing food
  • swollen throat
  • feeling weak
  • cold
So far I have not visited any doctor yet. I can still carry myself despite of my health condition right now. In fact I still able to manage to make my blog updates. I hope I'll be totally fine soon. Please help me God.

Needs to be Organized

My room badly needs new arrangement. It has been messy since I arrived. If you have small children probably you may also experience this scenario. Unorganized place within the house affects my mental function. Meaning, messy, scattered, unorganized room makes my mind the same way. I don't know if you also feel that way, but based on my own perception that is what I usually feel. I just want a peaceful and organized environment. Right now, I don't think that is within my reach because Karaoke singing is also in the neighborhood. Grrrr... It is their source of income. We'll see how far I can take it. As of now I need to start on my very own room by organizing and cleaning everything.

More Kids Learning Stuff

I love buying books and different learning tools for my children. I want them to learn as the easiest way as possible. We have high expectations from our kids. As parents I think that is just normal. But we just remember to take our time and have patience to teach them. We sent our kids to school at the age of 2 1/2 yrs. old. In that way, they will learn to socialize and develop their skills in an early stage. So enough for that rambling, here is the image for what I got the last time I went to the bookstore. I bought wooden puzzle, wooden alphabet and more of the Kumon books.

Home Renovation

I have been tweaking this blog for days. I really wanted to have it makeover for a long time because I was kind of bored looking at it. The image of my old home can be seen below. Aside from the header makeover, I made some slight changes on its border and color. Now seems cleaner than the previous layout. I am not familiar with CSS coding so a bit of headache for me in doing this thing. Well, it's another challenge since I am also back into Photoshop self-learning process.

I'm Glad I Found You

I've been craving for veggies like okra and bitter melon. They are some of my favorite veggies. I looked for these at different stores but I seldom found them, maybe like once a month and only at SuperCenter. I've never seen these at Walmart. I don't know what reason why they don't sell it there.

I was so grateful for finding bitter melon and okra because they are so different from the rest veggies out there. What about you, can your taste buds take what's on the image below?

For this wonderful day we have no plans to go out because we did already that yesterday so we will be watching movie all day. The routine will be movie, eat, movie then sleep. What can you see about that my friends? By the way, some of the shows we'll be watching are Terminator and Tomorrow Never Dies. So how about you, how you gonna plan to spend the day?

Backpacks and Bags

School has just started in our place two days ago. When we went to WalMart a week before the opening of the class parents and students were busy buying school supplies, bags, and some other stuff. Every time I can see kids going to school around our village it reminds me of my two little little children who are now attending Preschool class in the Philippines. I left them on the first day of their class. But before that time we went also for shopping for their things. I bought my son a roller bag which can be turn into backpack. Of course, I made sure that the books will fit in there. For my daughter she has her favorite cartoon character backpack. I saw the spark on their eyes on that moment when they saw their bags. If I am mistaken they were comparing if which one has a jump for joy when they found out that they have new bags.

For students who have numbers of books, I would suggest to go for book bags because there is enough room for the books. A branded one or with good quality would be great so it won't be easily be rupture. Well, the owner should also take good care of their bag for it to last longer. Talking about the care for bags, I am impressed the way how my friend takes care of her bags. Actually people are different. Some just dump their things at the corner after using. Is that your attitude my friend? I hope not.

We know that the price of backpack varies on its design, quality and the place where it is manufactured. When I buy stuff I usually consider those qualities I just mentioned. I want to make sure that I can get a good one because I always think of the long term service. That is my perspective when buying personal things. With regards to that, I usually buy stuff during sale event to avail the discount. If there is additional coupon, then that would be great. This time of economic crisis every penny for me is so important. In fact I am teaching my children on how to save money so they will know the real value or essence of money. Soon I will be seeing my two kids, and then I will find out if the backpacks I purchased few months ago are still in good condition. Anyway, as a mom, do I have a choice if those stuffs are not in a presentable manner?

Victoria Harbour

It's another Monday once again but since holiday so no work. For this wonderful day, I would like to share with you the picture I captured when hubby and I were inside the water taxi at Victoria Harbour. Incidentally there was a Russian ship on tour at that time so here it is in the image. Enjoy watching the photo my friends.

Additional Indoor Plant

I love a home surrounded with lots of plants and flowers. In fact, we are looking forward of having our own place with a big yard so we could plant anything we want. In the apartment where we are currently living there's no way space outside. What is outside is enough for us to sit during summer and have barbecue. We are just renting so I can't complain because the rental is high $1,000 plus and only 2 bedrooms.

My dream to have plants or even mini-garden is way far to achieve. So because of that, I just buy indoor plants at Walmart. Of course I did not buy in bulk. For the last plant I bought is in the image below. I don't know its name but what I know is we have like this in the Philippines. I bought it for $5. Since the pot was small I decided to transfer it in a bigger one as you can see below.

Dreaming Every Night

Hey folks. Do you experience dreaming every night? A certain person in this world does dream every night. What do you think is the reason? That certain person referring here is me. Honestly I find it weird. I don't really like to dream but I think there's no such way of controlling it. I told my husband about it and he said "You eat too much." lol! We just laugh together.

Different theories were formed by different philosophers about dreaming. But still there is no realistic answer about why people and animals do dream. One theory entails that dreams exist to fulfill our wishes. Well, whatever the reason is all I can say is I don't like dreaming especially those repeated dreams 'cause really weird.

My Dream Kitchen

Kitchen is the most important aspect of the house. It is where most moms stay. In my part, I want a huge kitchen with nice dark painted cabinets. Of course, everything should be granite. From granite sinks to granite counter top. Hubby and I have the same taste when it comes to kitchen. During spare hours we talk about our ideal house and its features. I know, someday we will be able to put up the kitchen we wanted. I am really fan of granite because it looks elegant and neat. For granite sink I already have found the place where to get just in a low prize. I heard they offer same day shipping which is also great. The store is "Shop Sinks and Faucet." So check it out.

HongKong Street Market

The photo below was taken during our vacation in HongKong. It is their Street market that I love to roam around. Lots of tourists love to drop by there because of their cheap stuffs. The buyer should know how to bargain to get the lowest price. In bargaining stuffs I am good in that. I remember how I bargain the dress that I bought from this market. Honestly, I can't wait to go back there again.

Nutrition Month

Nutrition month had passed already. Sorry for this late post. I just want to share the photo of my son performing on stage with his classmates. I am so sorry to say that the photo is not quite clear. The housekeeper was the one who took this in a far distance.

My mother was the one who supervised my son and all those other things needed. My mother did a great job though. Son received also a medal on this celebration for having well-cleaned and no defective teeth.

To my son, we are so proud of you. We love you and miss you so much.

Only Nizoral Works on Me

Seeing white flakes on hair and scalp is so embarrassing. To those who have been suffering from such annoying dandruff you have my empathy because I have been there and still fighting for it till now. I tried different anti-dandruff shampoos, and once I found out that a certain shampoo doesn't work on me I shift to another brand.

Dandruff can be caused by different reasons, including sensitive to hair products, dry skin and other skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Whatsoever is my cause I don't know. I have never visited any doctor to check my scalp problem. I just do the self-treatment. So the only shampoo that works on me is Nizoral, and if I'll stop using it and go back to Loreal, Pantene or whatever I will be in big trouble. Itchy would occur here and there! Grrrrrrrr.... So disgusting!

I don't drink tea, do you? But when I saw the stunning teapot displayed inside the Empress Hotel's boutique seemed I'd like to drink a tea. lol! I wanted to grab it but I have no money. (Sigh) What a poor creature! Anyway, my eyes were enjoying its look. In the Philippines for sure there are also tons of beautiful teapots in there, so I rather collect there because it is cheaper.

If you find this teapot stunning, then give your thumbs up to it.

Free Advertising at Sulit

One advertising site which is free to post ads online is sulit.com.ph. Filipino entrepreneurs and ordinary seller are posting their ads there for free. When we decided to moved out from our house in Cebu I posted it on their site. I received lots of inquiries few days after. It was awesome! And because of the site I able to find a tenant for our house. I was so happy. I hired a real estate agent to find the renter but I was the one who first found a client. I was jumping for joy because of that. Of course the commission goes to mine so I treated my housekeeper to Jollibee because we were the one who do the cleaning and packing of our things.

Now is the opportunity to thank sulit.com.ph for being their for us. So go advertise at Sulit.

Dollar Exchange Rates into Philippine Peso

These charts below illustrate the performance of the two different currencies. As an individual who keeps sending foreign money to my loved ones in the Philippines it becomes a part of my life to worry when dollar exchange rates go down. I am sure you know the reason why so, I don't need anymore to elaborate it here.

For monitoring purposes, here we go.

First chart shows the performance of Canadian dollar for the current week. It fluctuates all the time especially the case this time, you know the global crisis. As of today, the Canadian exchange rate to Philippine peso goes up a bit, $1 CAD dollar= 43. 53 PHP.

This 2nd chart illustrates the US for this week. It is actually improving now which is a good thing. Hopefully the flow will continue in the long run. So as of today 1 USD= 42.60 PHP.

Thinking of Buying My Own Domain

My mother blog has been existing in a free hosting site for more than two years. Lately, it came up in my mind of buying my own domain. But my main concern if I will do that is I don't know how often and I am not sure yet if I will be able to blog for a longer period. I already have five blogs and right now I'm finding hard updating them all as much as I want. Time is the problem. I love blogging, but I have another priorities in life, especially this time. So I am confused whether I will get my own domain. (sigh!) I need to think about it again.

God Bless Us All!

Baby Name Banned from New Zealand

Expecting a new angel in a family is so exciting. It's a long preparation from finding the baby's name till getting and organizing the baby stuffs. I've been there in that situation twice. In fact we came into the debate sector because we experienced disagreement with the names. Parents want unique and meaningful names for their baby. As for us it was also a tough condition deciding what name to call for our babies. Well, my daughter has only 3 words first name and my son has 2 words.

By the way, a baby name banned from New Zealand is Lucifer. I know you're so familiar with that name because you can find it in a bible. When I conducted my research it has several meaning.

So here we go. Lucifer means:

1.) Devil/Satan
2.) light bearer

If you are expecting a baby, would you consider Lucifer as his name? Hmmmm.... you tell me.

Online Cash Advance

People always need money. It's the fact that we couldn't deny. These days I would say that people are fortunate because once they have a job there are lots of companies that would let them lend money. Actually in a common term they call it as a loan, and it is payable in a certain period of time. In the old times, the borrower should go visit the company's office in order to file for application but since we are now in high tech generation borrower can apply a loan online. Applying for online cash advance is actually so easy. All you have to do is fill up the form correctly on their website.

If you have bad credit status before, no need to worry about it because the company will not check your debt history. So after successfully filling up the form online expect some cash deposited in your bank account. It's only few minutes of waiting actually. The approval is instant and 100 percent. Disapproval is so far away and no need to worry about it. If you are out of cash or broke and need money badly you know now what to do. For me, online cash advance is such a great help for anyone who are in need financially.

Making Friends and Chatting Online

What can you say about making friends and chatting online? Isn`t that a fun thing to do? Here in North America I am amazed how they advertise online dating sites on TV. They are helping anyone to find someone to chat with and gain friends. Well, that`s a big help for individual who are longing to have somebody. In joining or registering to those numerous sites you don`t need to pay even a single penny. All you have to do is register and fill some information on the registration form then start mingling other members like chatroulette.

As you know, chatting and making friends is a way of exchanging and expressing your inner thoughts. Honestly I love doing it because through chatting you`re also learning. These days, as what I have said online dating site is spreading too fast. One that I can mention is iMeetzu.com. If you are now ready to meet anyone online, I am telling you that site is the right for you. There you could possibly meet omegle another member who wants to chat to beautiful individual like you. Hopefully on your first day you will have lots of fun and want to keep coming back to gain more friends.
