Color
In the sphere of sign designing, regardless of the main
purpose, whether for business or personal, the appropriate use of color is
essential. The truth is, color strongly attracts audience, and it must be
complemented accordingly to the design created to be more appealing.
How the Colors Compliment
and Interact?
The mixture of colors should provide a sense of balance for
the viewer’s eye. With that, there are three primary uses of complementation
namely;
*Analogous Colors
–Colors that are next to each other on the color wheel. They match well and
create comfortable and serene designs.
*Triadic Colors – Uses
colors that are evenly spaced around
the color wheel. Triadic color harmonies tend to be quite vibrant.
*Compound Colors – In
addition to the base color, it uses the two colors adjacent to each compliment.
Allows for more freedom in the design.
Composition
The layout of the information to be delivered is extremely
vital. It is essential to follow the certain principles of composition when
structuring info visually, like for example, the center of interest, symmetrical
balance, asymmetrical balance, unity, contrast, movement, etc.
Typography
It is the purposeful arrangement of type. This can be
manipulated to create emphasis and enhance readability. The font types/style,
word spacing, paragraph alignment are just a few examples under typography that
also play a significant effect in sign design making.
